--About

Higashiyama Tea:
The birthplace of the Chagusaba farming method is the Higashiyama district of Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
This district is known as the central location of "Shizuoka's Chagusaba farming method."

What is Chagusaba farming? Chagusaba farming is
a traditional farming method in which grasses such as pampas grass and bamboo grass around tea fields are cut from autumn to winter and
laid on the tea fields, leading to improved tea quality, soil improvement, and conservation of biodiversity. This
farming method is particularly common in Shizuoka Prefecture and was designated a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System in 2013.

About Goryo Tea: The Goryo Tea Growers
' Association is located in a naturally rich environment south of Mt. Awagatake in the northeastern part of Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
It is a small-scale factory operated by eight tea farmers.
Due to the small production volume and limited retail sales, and because it is sold by reservation only, the deep-steamed tea sold directly by the Goryo Tea Growers' Association
is not widely available and is said to be a rare and precious tea.
