In order to always enjoy a good cup of tea, tea leaves must be preserved.
Sencha is a delicate drink, and the factors that can alter its quality are oxygen, humidity, temperature, and ultraviolet rays. Before opening the package, store it in a refrigerator or other place where the temperature can be kept between 5 and 10°C.
It should be stored in an airtight container (such as a vacuum aluminum bag). After opening the package, it is not recommended to store it in a refrigerator, as it tends to transfer odors from other items.
In addition, repeatedly taking tea in and out of the refrigerator at room temperature can easily absorb moisture, leading to deterioration of the tea’s flavor.
As a precaution when opening the container, since condensation forms on the surface of the storage container when it is removed from the refrigerator, do not open the container immediately, but allow it to come to room temperature before opening.
After opening the container, we recommend storing the tea in a tea canister or sealed bag in a cupboard or other storage container where the temperature does not change much, and consuming it as soon as possible.
The standard for drinking the tea is to drink it within one month after opening the package without losing its flavor.
Recently, there are titanium tea canisters that block ultraviolet rays and prevent fragrance transfer.
