Tea isn't the only thing Kakegawa is famous for. Kakegawa City's history began with Kakegawa Castle, built by the Imagawa clan during the Muromachi period. It flourished as a castle town during the Edo period and is now known as a city with many historical buildings and cultural sites. There are several such historical sites and natural attractions.
