Located within Kakegawa Castle Park, the "Ninomaru Teahouse" is a facility where you can easily enjoy authentic tea. It was established in Kakegawa, a town famous nationwide for its tea. Admission is 510 yen for adults and 250 yen for junior high school students and younger. You can enjoy matcha or sencha tea with a Japanese sweet.
Under the direction of Masao Nakamura, an authority on teahouses and traditional Japanese architecture, it is an authentic wooden single-story building in the sukiya style. Such an authentic public teahouse is said to be rare nationwide.
Its location, just a 10-minute walk from JR Kakegawa Station, means that it is bustling with inbound tourists from Asia, Europe, and other countries on weekends.
