Takatenjin Castle

This mountain castle, located in Kakegawa City (formerly Daito Town) in Shizuoka Prefecture, dates back to the Sengoku period and was the site of fierce battles between Tokugawa Ieyasu and Takeda Katsuyori. Built on Mt. Tsuruo, which is 132 meters above sea level, it was known as an "impregnable castle" due to its natural fortress.
The castle ruins are now a hiking trail and
are popular with history buffs and castle enthusiasts.
