This is a well-known, long-established Western-style confectionery shop in Kakegawa, which has been around for quite some time, perhaps 40 to 50 years. It used to be located in the Renjaku shopping street. It moved to Nakajuku quite a while ago.
Their rare cheesecake is a classic. The prices are very reasonable. Even with the rising cost of living these days, they have several items priced in the 300 yen range. There is also a cafe space.
Personally, I like the "Matterhorn," named after the shop, because it brings back nostalgic memories. It has finely crushed chestnuts in the cream, and it's a familiar taste from my junior and senior high school days. They
also have a variety of baked goods, so it would be a good choice for gifts.
